Learning to Trust Myself Again

A reflection on intuition, self-trust, and inner knowing
There was a time I didn’t trust myself.
Even when I felt something clearly…
I would question it.
Second guess it.
Talk myself out of it.
Look for reassurance outside of me.
I thought other people knew better.
I thought I needed confirmation.
I thought I needed to be sure.
But deep down…
I already knew.
Healing didn’t just teach me awareness.
It taught me trust.
Trust in what I feel.
Trust in what my body tells me.
Trust in the quiet knowing that doesn’t need explanation.
I started noticing something…
Every time I ignored myself,
I felt it.
Tension.
Discomfort.
A quiet disconnect.
And every time I listened…
Even if it didn’t make sense yet…
I felt something different.
Calm.
Clarity.
Peace.
That’s when I realized…
Self-trust isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about honoring what you already know.
Now, I don’t rush to explain myself.
I don’t need to justify my decisions.
I don’t override what I feel to make others comfortable.
I listen.
And I trust that it’s enough.
Take what resonates. Leave the rest.
